Nathan Adelson Hospice Locations to Serve as Drop-Off Points for ‘Back to School’ Supplies for Local Elementary Schools
Through Aug. 22, Nathan Adelson Hospice will serve as a drop-off point for much-needed school supplies for students at Robert L. Taylor and Sunrise Acres elementary schools. Items can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at one of the following Nathan Adelson Hospice locations: 4141 Swenson St., off East Flamingo Road, or 3150 N. Tenaya Way, at the corner of Cheyenne Avenue.
“At a time when budgets are tight in the school district, we are happy to help out the teachers and students at these schools,” said Carole Fisher, president and chief executive officer of Nathan Adelson Hospice.
Fisher said Nathan Adelson Hospice adopted Robert L. Taylor Elementary School in 2009 after a prominent school educator, Cliff Kehoe, became a patient at the hospice. He was a dedicated educator and supporter of high-risk students, and Fisher promised him that “his work would continue to flourish” even after his passing in April 2009.
The Nathan Adelson Hospice team expanded their efforts to include Sunrise Acres Elementary School in 2010.
Among school supplies needed are:
- Glue sticks
- Colored pencils
- Pocket folders
- Paper towels
- Zip lock bags
The donations will be delivered to the schools prior to the first day of classes on Aug. 27, 2012.
